Support and Sick Pay

We want to support you when you’re not well enough to be in work. Our sickness policy has been designed to support you physically, mentally and financially.


We’re committed to having regular conversations with you about your health and wellbeing. When you need us, we’ll meet with you to understand what adjustments are needed to support you to fulfil your role, to the best of your ability.



Health Plans

Our health plan makes sure you have access to and can afford to stay healthy through dental treatments, visits to the optician, complementary therapies and much more. Level 1 cover is on us. For more information, visit the Simply Health website


At some point in our lives we may experience illness or injury that impacts us long term and meets the definition of disability. Should this happen whilst working for us, we’ll explore supporting you through our income protection plan. This is designed to support salary continuation for staff who may be absent due to illness or injury long term.


Through Canada Life – WeCare we offer access to a GP’s second opinion, specialist counselling, and many other services for for employees and their households.



Wellness Room / Multi-Faith Room

If you need some quiet time in a homely environment, our wellness room provides a haven for our people. We provide the comfiest sofa along with a light therapy lamp and all the touches that make this space the perfect area to focus on your wellness.


We’re proud of our diverse workforce and want everyone to feel comfortable bringing their full-selves to work. Our multi-faith room is there for you to pray, reflect, meditate and find quiet.

Annual Leave

When you start with us you’ll receive an enhanced annual leave entitlement above the statutory minimum.

You’ll also receive an extra days leave to celebrate religious festivals or something dear to you, as part of our Equality Group pledges.

And we celebrate every full year you work for CCHA by adding an additional day of holiday up to a maximum of 5 days.


  • How does this work?

Ali works 35 hours a week which gives them 26 annual leave days per year, which includes the celebration day (and they’ll get bank holidays on top.) Ali will also get an additional day added for each year they work here, up to a max of 5 days.


  • Buying Extra Days

Sometimes you may need a little more time off. If you do, you can buy up to an extra week of leave for the following year.

Electric Pool Cars

You can use one of our electric cars to get around the city and help reduce carbon dioxide emissions. You’ll be able to book out a car to get you out and about, in your role, if you’re meeting with tenants or off to a community event.



Electric Charging Points

Do you have your own electric car or electric bike? You can use our free electric charging points at our head office.



Cycle to Work Scheme

Did you know, a member of staff who cycles 4 miles to work reduces their annual carbon emissions by half a tonne?

You can benefit from tax relief by sacrificing part of your salary to join the Cycle to Work scheme. This Government backed initiative allows you to buy a bike and/or cycling accessories, up to the value of £2000!

Maternity Leave

Starting a family is a special time which is why we support you through our enhanced policy. After being with us for 6 months, you’ll receive full pay for 20 weeks and half pay for 19 weeks.




Bereavement is a difficult time, we care. We’ll be there for you if you need us and we provide options for you to take the time you need.



Pension Scheme

It’s important we all plan for our futures. We auto-enroll you into our Defined Contribution pension scheme through the Pensions Trust. We’ll always contribute a minimum of 5% into your future savings plan (you’ll contribute a minimum of 4%).
