We want your home to be just that – your home. However, there are a few things we want to make you aware of to help you make an informed decision about the next steps you need to take.

Whilst we’ll need to give permission before the improvements commence, we don’t want to put any barriers in your way to make a house feel like your home. The information on this page is designed to help you understand the process of making changes to your home. It will also explain what we need to know in terms of safety, and ensuring all the correct planning permissions are in place.

Please let us know if you want to improve or replace the following:

  • Kitchens or Bathrooms
  • External/Internal Doors
  • Windows
  • Boundary Walls or Fencing
  • External property redecoration
  • Extensions, conservatories, etc.
  • Installation of dishwashers, tumble driers, or gas appliances (cookers, etc.)

(This list isn’t exhaustive but, if you’re not sure if you need to ask permission, give us a call and we can have a chat about it.)

Our Home Improvement Form will guide you through what you need to do, and what we need to know, step by step.

As you may be aware, some improvements we will not be able to give consent for. In such cases, we will always provide our reasons why.

Where we’ve given the thumbs up for the improvements, and they’ve been completed, a member of our team will come to check out the work and sign it off. Remember that any home improvements you make will be your responsibility. This means you will be responsible for the repair and general upkeep of the new installations. You will need to restore the property to its original condition when your tenancy with us ends because, as we all know, taste is subjective.

Then, you can grab a cuppa, put your feet up, and enjoy your new space.
