CCHA today announces that Hayley Selway will be departing as CEO, end of October 2023.

Hayley has served as CEO of CCHA since 2019, following regulatory intervention by Welsh Government. Under her leadership, CCHA has made significant progress in improving its financial performance and governance regaining the highest regulatory judgment in March 2022.

Mike Owen, Chair of the Board at CCHA said: “It is always sad when a great member of our team leaves us, but it is also real pleasure when people get new jobs and new opportunities.  Hayley’s contributions to CCHA have been immeasurable. She has led the organisation through a period of significant change.  She has been instrumental in improving our financial performance, governance, and culture. Thanks to Hayley we now feel that we are the housing association that our tenants want us to be, doing things right, supporting our communities and reflecting the diverse communities we work in. Her vision and unwavering commitment have set the stage for a brighter future, and we are deeply grateful for the legacy that she leaves behind.”

No stranger to the housing sector in Wales, before her time at CCHA Hayley was Executive Director for People and Places at Taff Housing Association, where she was responsible for landlord and services, development, tenant engagement, partnerships, and repairs. She also led the asset management and compliance, HR and organisational development functions.  Prior to that Hayley also held senior positions at Vale of Glamorgan Council and Tai Calon Community Housing.

Hayley’s departure from CCHA will see her take on her first role within the English housing sector with her appointment as CEO of Two Rivers Housing in the Forest of Dean.

Speaking of her time at CCHA, Hayley said: “I am immensely proud of my time at CCHA. It has been one of the most challenging but rewarding roles I have had. The tenants and community members we work for deserve the best homes and housing services and I am absolutely confident that the team at CCHA will continue to strive for this every day. Two Rivers offers me a new and exciting challenge where I hope to build on their successes in delivering great customer service.

I would like to thank CCHA tenants, community members, every single member of staff and my Board for their support over the past four and a half years and will watch from afar as CCHA continues to go from strength to strength.”
