The conversion of CCHA’s former offices at Callaghan House in Adamsdown has now started, with YourSpace Projects Ltd. awarded the contract to take on the work.

The building served as CCHA’s main office space from 2002 to 2022, before it was taken on by Welsh Women’s Aid. Plans are now underway to transform the space into six new energy efficient homes with landscaped gardens.

The three 3-bedroom apartments and three 2-bedroom apartments will provide some much-needed new homes in a central area of the city.

These homes will benefit from a high level of energy performance, with Solar Photovoltaic Panels and battery storage. In addition to this, the external areas will be transformed into a shared landscaped garden, providing a safe place for both residents and wildlife to enjoy.

The project, which has been part funded by Welsh Government Social Housing Grant is due to complete in Autumn 2026.

We’re pleased to have YourSpace Projects Ltd on board once again to deliver another exciting refurbishment in Adamsdown. Callaghan House is really close to our site at Moira Terrace, and we can’t wait to see the transformation of this area into a vibrant hub once both projects are completed in 2026. These projects will really lift this corner of Adamsdown. We know that there’s a desperate need for housing in Cardiff, with people waiting far too long for permanent homes, we’re proud to be able to deliver a further six properties to help meet that need.
