On Wednesday 25 June, we had the pleasure of attending the TPAS Cymru Good Practice Awards – an evening dedicated to the incredible efforts of tenants across our communities. We were thrilled to be shortlisted in three categories and even prouder to celebrate the commitment, creativity and leadership shown by our involved tenants throughout the year.
The voices, experiences, and actions of our tenants were central to each of our nominations and served as an important reminder of the power of collaboration. From campaigning for cleaner streets to sharing powerful personal stories, our tenants have driven meaningful change.
The Bronze award for the Communicating with Tenants and Residents category, recognised our documentary-style video on tackling fly tipping. This project brought together tenant voices and staff insights to raise awareness and drive real discussion about the impact of fly tipping on our communities. Not only did the video outperform previous social media content, it also sparked valuable conversations during a workshop involving tenants, colleagues and partners.
We also took home Bronze in the Engaging Tenants in Environmental Initiatives / Projects category for the Clean up Cardiff Now campaign. This tenant-led initiative, shaped in close partnership with our Homes and Estates Tenant Group, empowered communities to take ownership of environmental improvements. The campaign has already made a visible difference in our neighbourhoods.
But the standout moment of the night was watching Angell Green collect her well-earned title of Tenant of the Year. We were honoured to nominate her in recognition of her exceptional leadership, unwavering commitment, and the powerful role she plays in shaping the future of our organisation.
We want tenants to have a say on how we deliver our services and how we can improve the neighbourhoods that you live in, find out how you can get involved here.
