At CCHA we’re celebrating Happiness at Work Week by announcing the results of our latest staff survey, which demonstrate high levels of satisfaction and engagement.
The survey, conducted by The Happiness Index, was completed by 91.6% of our colleagues, surpassing the previous year’s 87%. The overall average score rose to 8.0 out of 10.0, up from 7.9 in 2023.
One of the standout findings was the positive sentiment towards team relationships. Our employees rated their connections with colleagues highly, with an average score of 9.0 for the question “How would you rate your relationship with your team members?”
Another key indicator of employee satisfaction, the Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS), saw a substantial improvement to +48. This marks an increase of +11 points compared to 2023 and far exceeds The Happiness Index’s overall benchmark of +5.
Taking action on the feedback received in our 2023 staff survey, we’ve implemented several initiatives over the past year to improve the employee experience and foster development opportunities. These initiatives include:
- Enlisting Choose to Grow to offer a comprehensive Leadership programme for 60 colleagues, equipping them with the skills to navigate change and excel in their roles.
- Launching a self-development fund that has supported 13 employees in pursuing various qualifications, from driving licenses to advanced degrees.
- Expanding our staff benefits package with new offerings like additional annual leave, financial advice, discounts, and long service awards.
- Redesigning our office with neurodiversity in mind to ensure a more inclusive and comfortable environment for all our colleagues.
- Bringing colleagues together for our first in-person conference since the pandemic providing opportunities for networking, collaboration, and team-building.
Rhian Robinson, Head of People and Organisational Development at CCHA said:
“Being an employer of choice relies so heavily on knowing what is important to our people and putting plans in place to work towards this. We are thrilled to have so many of our colleagues share their views with us so we can keep making the changes that they value.”
The positive results from our staff survey give us a strong foundation for the future. We will build upon this momentum by supporting our colleagues in finding innovative ways to work that meet their needs, investing in employee development, and maintaining open communication channels. These efforts will enable us to continue delivering exceptional service to our customers and strengthen our goal of being an employer of choice.
