The Communities and Regeneration team are responsible for tenant engagement activities, including focus groups and scrutiny groups of our services, policies and procedures. We have 3 community facilities which are in Trowbridge, Butetown, and Tremorfa which we manage. In addition to this we have three specific projects, JETS, Reach and Flourish.  Finally, we work with our contractors to create opportunities for work experience, volunteering, employment and community initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities

You will be required to assist the team with administrative functions including making and receiving calls, updating Excel worksheets, sending and receiving emails, scheduling meetings, receiving, helping to organise events and activities and taking notes of meetings. You will also be assisting the team with general administrative tasks such as leaflet and poster design. You may also be required to assist with our community centre bookings, activities and facility health and safety.

 

Skills Development

The role provides an opportunity to gain or enhance your office administration skills including communication via phone, email and online. By assisting the team you will be exposed organisational information and will experience first-hand the roles and responsibilities of different functions of a Housing Association.

A range of tasks will provide opportunities to learn and develop ICT skills that will enable you to confidently access and use a range of internal and external packages including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.

The role will provide you with the opportunity to be part of a team that assists all departments across our organisation and how to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers. You will develop team working skills, whilst also developing skills in using own initiative to get tasks done, by deadline and in an organised manner.

During the six months, there will be access to employability skills, resilience and confidence building sessions and bespoke training individual to the young person. A one to one employability mentor will develop an action plan of learning and development and assistance to apply for work, enter further education or to apply for apprenticeships.

Whilst working in the Social Housing Sector there are will be opportunities to learn about the functions of each department.

There will be opportunities to complete corporate staff mandatory training and a suite of free eLearning modules. We will encourage joining one of our CCHA steering groups.

As the team have various projects you will learn how we network and create partnerships that enable our tenants and communities to access our services. You will also experience a fast and dynamic working environment where we embrace creativity and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Working with the planned and reactive repairs administrative team this role will be assisting the administration of our repairs service to carry out essential and non-essential works for our tenants. This role would include customer service, data entry, phone calls, liaising contractors and tenants and ensuring customer satisfaction.

 

Skills Development

The role provides an opportunity to gain or enhance your communication skills both verbally and in writing within our organisation, whilst also building customer service experience and skills through interacting with colleagues our tenants and contractors.

 

A range of tasks will provide opportunities to learn and develop ICT skills that will enable you to confidently access and use a range of internal and external packages including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.

Key Responsibilities

You will be required to assist the team with administrative functions as well as working on site with Trade Staff. Functions include, learning the basic levels of customer service, basic trade skills such as carpentry and plumbing, making and receiving calls, sending and receiving emails, scheduling maintenance jobs, and understanding and producing data. You will also need to speak with external businesses, such as contractors about repairs jobs placed. This will require some attendance to meetings to take notes and minutes.

 

Skills Development

The role provides an opportunity to gain or enhance your understanding of a repairs process by conducting admin duties as well as working on site with trade staff. By assisting the Property Team, you will be exposed to high level organisational information and will experience first-hand the roles and responsibilities of different functions of how a Property and Repairs department works, as well as learning about Housing Association processes.

A range of tasks will provide opportunities to understand the demands of a fast paced repairs department, learn and develop ICT skills that will enable you to confidently access and use a range of internal and external packages including Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word and Outlook.
